If you have searched for social media management cost in Ghana, you may have seen quotes that are far apart. One provider may mean a few scheduled posts. Another may include copywriting, graphic design, video, daily replies, advertising and a monthly strategy meeting. Those are different services, even when both are called “social media management.”
The most useful short answer is to compare the work included, not the headline price. As at 9 October 2026, E Light Services lists Facebook and Instagram business-profile setup at GH₵500 once, Social Care from GH₵700 per month, and a Monthly Growth + Social Care combination from GH₵1,000 per month. The actual scope should be confirmed in a written quotation, and paid advertising spend is separate.
This guide explains how to build a sensible budget, what to ask before you engage a provider, and when a business may be better off starting with a smaller step.
The short answer: three starting points
| Your situation | Practical starting point | What to budget for |
|---|---|---|
| You can manage your own accounts | DIY | Your time, data, any design or scheduling tools, and optional advertising spend. “Free” accounts still require consistent work. |
| Your Facebook and Instagram profiles need a professional foundation | Get Social — GH₵500 flat | One-time setup and optimisation of the profiles; you or your team continue running them. |
| You need ongoing posting and first-response support | Social Care — from GH₵700/month | Done-for-you posts and stories, first-response to comments and DMs during business hours, and one monthly insights report. |
| You want wider visibility support as well | Monthly Growth + Social Care — from GH₵1,000/month | A combined starting point; confirm the current deliverables and limits before booking. |
E Light also lists Get Found + Get Social — Google, Facebook and Instagram setup — from GH₵900. These are published starting prices, not a promise that every business will fit the same scope. Third-party charges, extra content production and advertising spend may add to the total.
What are you paying someone to manage?
Before comparing a quote, ask what “management” means in that particular offer. It can include some or all of the following:
- Profile setup or optimisation: business details, bio, categories, links, contact buttons and account handover. This is usually a one-time project, not a monthly service.
- Content planning: choosing themes, post frequency and a simple calendar that supports a clear business goal.
- Writing and design: captions, graphics, photography, short-form video or editing. Ask who provides the photos and whether original production is included.
- Publishing: preparing and scheduling approved posts and stories on the agreed platforms.
- Community response: monitoring comments and messages, with clear boundaries on response times and what happens outside business hours.
- Paid advertising: campaign setup or management is different from the money paid to the platform. Confirm whether either is included; never assume that an ad budget is part of a monthly retainer.
- Reporting: a monthly review of useful indicators, such as enquiries, link clicks and response time—not just follower totals.
A quote that includes four posts and basic scheduling should not be compared directly with one that also includes original photography, daily community management and paid campaigns. Request the deliverables in writing, including what is specifically not included.
A practical monthly budget for a Ghanaian SME
A simple way to estimate your real cost is:
Monthly digital-presence budget = management fee + optional ad spend + content-production costs + tools/data costs
You may not need every line. If you supply usable product photos, approve captions promptly and handle customer conversations yourself, you may keep the budget lower. If you need new photography, video editing or more frequent replies, ask for those items to be priced separately.
Example 1: owner-managed, with no agency fee
You handle the Facebook and Instagram pages yourself. Your direct costs might be mobile data, a design or scheduling tool if you choose one, and any paid promotion you decide to run. The larger investment is the owner’s time: planning, creating, posting and replying consistently.
This can be a sensible start when you are still testing what customers ask for. Put a recurring 30-minute slot in your calendar to prepare content and a short daily check to reply to genuine enquiries. If there is no time to maintain the accounts, an inactive page can become a poor first impression.
Example 2: one-time profile setup, then DIY
If your accounts are confusing or incomplete, a one-time setup may be more useful than paying for monthly posts immediately. E Light’s Get Social setup is listed at GH₵500 flat for Facebook Page and Instagram business-profile setup and optimisation. The stated scope covers items such as the bio, categories, action buttons, highlights, WhatsApp linking and starter content templates.
After setup, your team remains responsible for publishing and answering messages unless you separately arrange ongoing support. This is a practical option if you have time to run the pages but want the foundation tidied up first.
Example 3: ongoing support, with a clear cap
E Light’s Social Care retainer starts at GH₵700 per month. Its published description covers done-for-you posting and stories using your photos, first-response to comments and direct messages during business hours, and one monthly insights report. Confirm the number of posts, approval process, start date and any exclusions in your quotation.
For illustration only, a business might set aside GH₵700 for Social Care plus GH₵300 for a platform advertising test, making a planned monthly outlay of GH₵1,000 before any extra production or tool costs. The GH₵300 is just an example of arithmetic—not a recommended ad budget, a minimum spend or a promise of results. Advertising is optional, and the ad spend is paid directly to the platform.
If you are considering broader visibility support, the Monthly Growth + Social Care combination is listed from GH₵1,000 per month. Ask for the current scope so you can compare it fairly with separate services.
Why Ghana social-media prices can look so different
Publicly advertised Ghana prices are not a reliable single market average. One Ghana-focused pricing article lists social-media marketing at GH₵300–GH₵1,500 per month; another provider page lists a starter package from GH₵1,500 per month. A separate Sidekick Digital article published in 2023 describes agency packages at GH₵3,000–GH₵6,000 per month. The dates, provider offers and included work differ, so these figures are best treated as examples of advertised scopes—not as directly comparable quotes or an independently verified 2026 average.
The price can change with the number of accounts, content volume, video or photography, how quickly messages need a first response, approval rounds and the reporting required. A low price is not automatically a bargain if it excludes the work you expected. A higher quote is not automatically better unless the extra work is clear and useful to your business.
Five questions to ask before you agree
- Which accounts and platforms are included? Name each one. “Social media” is too vague for a quotation.
- How many posts and stories will be delivered? Ask whether short videos, photography, graphic design and caption writing are included or additional.
- Who supplies and approves the content? Agree how quickly you must provide product information, photos and approvals.
- What does “replies” mean? Confirm business hours, expected first-response window, escalation for complaints and what is outside scope. A first-response service is not unlimited customer support.
- What will the report show? Choose measures linked to your goal: relevant enquiries, link clicks, booked consultations or repeat customers. Follower growth alone does not prove that social media is producing sales.
Also confirm who owns the accounts, who retains administrator access, how the service can be paused or ended, and whether paid promotions are included. Keep account recovery details under your business’s control; do not hand over personal passwords or one-time verification codes.
Set a goal before choosing the budget
Pick one result to learn from over the next month. For example: make it easier for customers to understand what you sell, receive more relevant enquiries, promote a new offer or respond to questions more reliably. Then choose one or two channels your customers actually use and agree how you will count progress.
A practical monthly review might track:
- relevant messages or enquiries received;
- how quickly the business gives a first response;
- how many enquiries become a booked appointment or order;
- which post or offer led to a useful conversation; and
- the total cost of the work and any separately paid advertising.
These numbers help you decide whether to keep the plan, adjust the content or pause spending. They do not guarantee that a particular number of sales will follow. Social media works best alongside a clear offer, reliable customer service and a way to complete the sale.

When a consultation may save you money
You may not need a full-service monthly package. If the profiles are already in good shape and you have someone who can post, a setup or a short consultation may be enough. If customer messages are being missed, a defined response-and-posting arrangement may be more helpful than buying extra graphics. If you cannot yet explain what customers should do after seeing a post, start by clarifying the offer before increasing the budget.
If you would like a second opinion, tell E Light Services what your business sells, which accounts you use, who will provide content, what you want customers to do and the amount you are comfortable spending. We can help you compare Get Social setup, Social Care, the combined visibility option or a DIY start—without assuming that you need the largest package.
